DiaSure Sensitivity Controls Kit

Date: 07/07/2011

All immunohaematology laboratories must demonstrate the work they are carrying out is performed to a high standard and that results are accurate.

There are many variables that can affect the outcome of antiglobulin tests and consequently adequate control is a fundamental consideration. These products have been developed for use as sensitivity controls to confirm that the technique, as performed, is capable of detecting weak IgG antibodies.

DiaSure Sensitivity Control Kit is validated for use on the DiaMed column agglutination systems. This weak antibody kit includes Anti-K, Anti-c, Anti-E and Anti-S. The inclusion of Anti-S allows this kit to be used for QC of automated instruments following cleaning procedures. The results interpretation is also incorporated into the DiaMed Gelstation QC Software. Laboratories using other techniques should validate the DiaSure Sensitivity Control Kit by that method before use.

Reagent description

The DiaSure Sensitivity Control Kit is prepared from human plasma (Anti-K, Anti-c, Anti-E) or monoclonal antibody (Anti-S). Each individual donation contains IgG Anti-c, Anti-E or Anti-K. Some donations may contain IgG antibodies other than the specificities shown as minor contaminants. The main component of the Anti-S control is derived from the in vitro culture of an IgG secreting human/mouse heterohybridoma.

DiaSure Sensitivity Control Kit has a shelf life of six months from date of manufacture. This will reduce wastage and make the product more economical.

This control product complies with the UK BTS Guidelines (2007) and when used for their intended purpose will provide the user with knowledge and confidence in the performance of the test platform that is being used.
