Quant-Rho FITC anti-D (Fetomaternal Haemorrhage)
To ensure appropriate anti-D prophylaxis, BCSH Guidelines for the estimation of fetomaternal haemorrhage and AABB standards recommend confirmation of the volume of the fetal bleed. Quant-Rho® FITC anti-D offers an alternative technique for quantifying the size of FMH.
Quant-Rho® FITC anti-D has the advantage of providing more accurate and reproducible results than those obtained from the
Kleihauer test. It only detects RhD positive cells making it particularly useful in patients with high levels of HbF.
Following clearance to market by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration [via the 510 (k) route] this product is for sale in the U.S. This product is CE Marked & complies with the IVD Directive.

Quant-Rho FITC anti-D (Fetomaternal Haemorrhage)
What is the reagent used for?
Estimation of fetomaternal haemorrhage using flow cytometry
How does this reagent differ from the Kleihauer test (KBT)?
This reagent measures presence of D antigen on red cells whereas the KBT measures haemoglobin F (HbF). Note -this means that the KBT can give a false high result due to the presence of maternal HbF. This will not happen using the Quant-Rho® FITC anti-D.
How is the reagent used?
The reagent is designed for use in flow cytometry, and is ready to use (no dilution needed).
How are the results processed?
The number of positive cell counts is converted to bleed volume using a calculation programme. Details of this calculation can be found in Mollison PL (1972) Quantitation of transplacental haemorrhage - British Medical Journal 3.31-34
How quickly does this reagent give us a result?
The assay, as recommended on the product insert, takes under an hour.
What is the stability?
2 years at 4°C
What is the storage temperature?
4°C - ready to use, no dilution needed
What is the pack size?
5ml
How many tests does the vial contain?
If using 50ul/test, there is sufficient for 100 tests.
Is the product CE Marked?
Yes, whereas other products on the market available for this purpose may not be.
Is the kit available in the USA?
Yes.
How do I order the product?
Please contact customer services at Alba Bioscience or contact one of our distributors (see distributors section for contact details).
Bulk products can also be ordered via customer services.
In the US please contact Quotient Biodiagnostics Inc.
